He started consulting to technology companies as a PhD student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business after graduating with an A.B., magna cum laude with highest honors in Sociology from Harvard College. After graduating from GSB, Doug taught and consulted to entrepreneurs and executives from around the world while on the faculty of the School of Management at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Doug has helped software, online commerce, health care, social media, manufacturing, blockchain, financial services, investment funds, and consumer products companies solve difficult problems in strategy, corporate governance, and sustainability and social responsibility.
Doug’s calling card is his ability to seamlessly weave together interdisciplinary insights from sociology, economics, law, organizations, and strategy in a practical manner. His interdisciplinary thinking allows him to quickly understand, analyze, and generate uncommon approaches to implementing innovative business models.

Prior to establishing SmartBlock Strategies, Lenn was an advisor to several teams in blockchain, including some ICO’s. She also ran a large product organization inside Hewlett Packard responsible for the transformative efforts behind the biggest split in corporate history into HPE and HPI. She spent several years at Cisco Systems across several strategic innovation teams for video, voice and mobile technologies, including WebEx, TelePresence and Jabber. She was the youngest participant in her class at the Strategic Decision and Risk Management (SDRM) Executive Program at Stanford University, where her coursework focused on risk assessment/management and decision-making. She is passionate about connecting people, ideas and projects in new ways. She has a vision for human advancements beyond technological solutions and for creating new ways to improve the world.
